Top 10 strangest phenomena of the mind

psych-facts:

1. Deja vu

Deja vu is an experience of having seen or experienced a new situation previously. It feels like if the event has already happened before. The experience is usually accompanied by a strong sense of familiarity and a sense of paradox or bizarre. The “previous” experience is usually attributed to a dream, but sometimes there is a constant feeling that it really has happened in the past.

2. Deja Vecu

Deja vecu is what most people experience when they think they are having a deja vu. Deja vu is when one has a feeling that he has seen something before, whereas deja vecu is an experience of having seen an event before, but with great detail as to recognize the smells and sounds. This also is usually accompanied by a very strong sense of knowledge about what will happen next.

3. Deja senti

Deja senti is a phenomenon of having already felt something. The phrase “I have felt it before” perfectly captures deja senti. It is only a mental phenomenon and seldom remains in our memory later. Many epileptic patients often experience deja senti.

THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION TO ME

“I shall call you squishy. And you shallbe my squishy. And you shall be mine”

Today in Class:
Professor: Attribution Theory. For example we'll think of tripping on the sidewalk. So, consider Consensus, Consistency, and Distinctiveness. The first of three main patterns, low-high-low, respectively. I haven't seen others tripping over the sidewalk - which is "low". This happens to me a lot - which is "high". I didn't just trip over this spot, I tripped in front of the English building, too, and in front of the Art Building - which is "low". So what is the cause of you tripping?
Student: You're clumsy.
Professor: Right! Now the second main pattern is high-high-high. Everyone else is tripping, too - high. This happens to me a lot - high. But all of us haven't been tripping everywhere, just this spot - high. What is the cause of the tripping?
Student: The sidewalk's busted.
Professor: Right, something like that. The sidewalk is the cause. And the last pattern is low-low-high. I haven't seen others tripping over the sidewalk - low. This doesn't happen to me a lot - low. But I don't trip everywhere, I just have now - high. What is the cause?
Class: *silence*
Student in the back: .....you're drunk.

I couldn’t believe this when I read the headline. I would understand if it was difficult to handle a rape case that happened several weeks previously, but the way the company and its counselors shut her down and blamed her for it is absolutely disgusting…

Fitness. What is it, really? Is it getting up early in the morning to force yourself to go on a long run that leaves you exhausted, gasping for breath, and ready to give up? Too often we avoid the idea of “fitness” because it sounds like something painful and horribly boring. But in truth, fitness…
